Watching Movies at theater Vs. Watching Movies at home

People are always looking for distraction. There are many options to choose but what about watching movies? This is a great option but what would be better, watching movies at theater or watching movies at home? The purpose of this essay is to contrast comfort, price and quality of movies in these two items.

I am going to take into consideration these three aspects; comfort, price and quality of movies relating with watching movies at theater. Comfort is always important in order to enjoy a movie. A theater does not offer a lot of comfort to the audience, it mainly because in a cinema attend many people and it is very probable that there would be distractors like noise, cellphone ringing among others that may almost impossible a total comfort during the movie. Another thing to take into consideration is price; due to cinemas are establishments that attract many people, the prices of all the snacks that selling there are really expensive compared with stores form outside, so what would be a distraction becomes a surprising amount of money spent. Talking about quality of movie, theater have many advantages, for example, the big screen, the loud and clear sound, etc. those qualities that a cinema offers make movies more enjoyable. LCM Linda (2008) published in Cinemaroll stated that actually watching movies at theater is better enjoyable “Not many people have a brilliant sound system, a TV that can play 3D at home. The equipment is very expensive to buy and to maintain in good condition. People can afford to watch and hear the best output without owning the equipment by watching the movies in the cinema. A high level of enjoyment can be attained in the cinema rather than at home.” On the other side she also claimed that it is more expensive in this way “A movie ticket may cost USD10 or more. The total cost per person may be even higher when people consume porn corn and drinks at the same time”, so, watching movies at cinema has either advantages or disadvantages.

Talking about watching movies at home and taking into consideration the same aspects, there are many differences either positive or negative. Relating with comfort, a house has the advantage that is so private with a silent environment, moreover that you can be down your bed and rest. The price of watching movies at home is really low because candies and sodas are cheap and you just buy what you really want; but as a contrast of a theater, the quality that home offers is so poor. In spite of the previous advantages of watching movies at home, quality of movies at home is not a good point, it because most of the movies that you buy are piracy movies and almost all the time they have sound problems besides that the screen where you are watching movies is going to be according to your TV. As mentioned by Sandy Berger in an article called Opinions Abound for Watching Movies at home, she affirmed that the popularity of watching movies at home are increasing the last year “according to some recent statistics 80% of Mexican population  prefer to watch movies at home than at theater, this agreement in relation to their cost, transportation and comfort”.     

As previously mentioned, either watching movies at home or at theater has many advantages and disadvantages to take into consideration, this kind of distraction or entertainment is going to be one of the most popular activities among people. Depending on what the person likes it is what he or she will choose. In my point of view I prefer to see movies at home because it is more comfort to me.

Is it considered “Google” as a useful study tool for students? The use of Google instead of libraries and reliable sources has taken boom among students because of many advantages that it provides but, is it a real study tool? There are some reasons why “Google” is not as good as it seems to be:

Some sources in Google are unreliable. The main disadvantage about the use of Google is that much information there may be false which is a big problem for students because they can be learning unreal information which is provided for unknown people and not all the time it is reliable. On the other hand the use of Google cause distraction in user due to students tend to be browsing on internet for hours, doing anything except what they really need to do, as a consequence they waste a lot of time.

Students become lazy. Another point against the use of Google is that many students are stopping to attend to libraries and the worst, they are stopping to read but preferring “copy-paste”, it is because of the facilities that internet, in special Google provides; moreover than Google promotes plagiarism in students since everything you can imagine is on internet and it results very easy to steal the ideas of the original author of each document. Some sources show that the 87.4% of the population in the world spend most of their time browsing on internet and as a later effect, families broke their communication mainly.

Google is useful for people who have little free time. In spite of the previous mentioned disadvantages of the use of Google it is worth mentioning that Google can be also used with a productive purpose for example, people who has not access to libraries result them very useful this tool. People spend less time seeking information besides that they can do it from house without the necessity of leaving to do their home tasks.

Therefore, the use of Google instead of libraries and reliable sources has its pros and cons but the reality is that it depends on the ethic and seriously that the user gives to this one. It is important to say that Google can be very useful in situations so, let us try to give a good use to Google in order to allow this source of information continue working.

The best trip in my life

Chiapas is the most beautiful place that I have visited. I have had the opportunity to know many places which have amazing things to talk about but Chiapas, this interesting and cultural place left me a lot of reasons by which I would return

I had the great memory of people that become an important element in this trip. When I arrived at the huge, crowded and noisy bus station I immediately thought it would be really difficult to get, at least, the hotel where I would  be hosted besides I was hungry and weary, suddenly, I felt that a person was getting close to me by my back, I was really afraid because I just watched his mysterious shadow, it reflected a tall, thin man with glasses and a black shelter, when I turned  to him he, very kindly asked me.. “Can I help you? You look lost” and his words gave me confidence, so I told him my trouble and this gentle and helpful man got me a homely, peaceful room to my sojourn in this beautiful place.

I could not believe what I was seeing. After I got a room I decided to take a walk around touristic places in Chiapas since it is characterized by its nature in special the waterfalls that fell over the crystalline, blue water source, it was marvelous to feel the cold water’s breeze to fall on y face at the same time that I felt the wind’s whisper that was making bristle my body while I listened to the birds song; it  made me feel like in heaven, around me there were lovely, tall green threes that showed me what a splendid nature had there, it allowed me to breath the most fresh air I ever breathed. On the other hand the large clear river that ran in a rush and seeing the fluorescent fish swimming over there stunned me.

Each day something new to know. During my visit in Chiapas I also knew some typical dishes but the most emblem is “tamal”; it is prepared in its different varieties like, “tamal de armadillo”, “tamal de iguana”, etc. it may be considered like exotic dishes but, in fact, they are really good. The flavor of all of them is delicious, those are prepared with a sour mass and corn, it is mixed and spread on a green corn sheet, after that put i ton fire for an hour and that is all. I added a Little of spicy sauce and it was really tasty.

My fascination with this fantastic place is growing inside of me. To know some important aspects about Chiapas left me a desire to know more about it and although I do not have enough time to travel, these interesting things motivate me to go in order to know more wonder about this state.

XIMENA DE LA PEÑA

1st Essay

Everyone has a life’s story and this is mine. My name is Ximena de la Peña, I am 20 years old and I am from Aguascalientes, Mexico. I am the youngest of my family, which consists on my mother called Brenda and who is journalist and my two older brothers, one male and one female. I consider myself like a relaxed person. I love to be with my family and spend time with them, we used to go to movies, it has become like a tradition into my family, I like to listen to music, being with friends, family or especially with my boyfriend. I try to be good person with everybody, I have always think that in any time one needs to each other for this reason it is better to be fine with everyone. This is the most general of my life but, what about the deepest of it??

Many things that happened, many things to signify. My life began on June 5, 1991 and since I remember we always were a good family, without family problems and always supporting us each other. I studied in Enrique Garcia Gallegos Elementary School, during this period of time there was an unpleasant event in my family, my father died. It was when I was 7 years old and form me it as so difficult to overcome this part of my life because my mom was alone and responsible of 3 kids. Through time it was easier to live with this and I began my secondary education, it was fulfilled in the Tecnica No. 5 Secondary School. At this time I was in a good moment of my life and there was when I met my first boyfriend with who I lasted 4 years of my life, it means when I started with high school in the Cbtis 39 I still was in a relationship with him. At the middle of high school I took the best decision I could do and after 4 years I broke up this relation.

My real life just was starting! Today I study a B.A. in English Language Teaching which is one of my motivations. I have always liked languages in special English for this reason I saw it as an opportunity for unfold me in the field that pleases me. I have also participated in different programs relating with my major and it gives me satisfaction. During this time also arrived a blessing to my life, he is my current boyfriend to who love a lot. We have 1 year together, which has been the happiest time I have ever lived, it is seen reflected in which we have plans to marry us. He, together with my family and friends are other motivations to effort me everyday. Each of them has something special that supports me and makes me give the best. Every dream, every yearning are achieved in order that they are proud of myself.

I always am seeing toward in front expecting to reach my goal. There are a lot of things I want to do in my future, the main one is to finish my B.A. and get my degree, to find a great job and also get the opportunity to study mastery. I want to get married as I said before and to travel with my husband abroad United States and England. To finish I want to compensate my mother in some way for everything that she did for me.

As you can see, everyone has a life’s story; in fact you have your own, may be with problems but also with satisfactions, may be with sadness but also a lot of happiness. Life is just one and into this life there is a perfect plan for each of us, do not worry for situations you may live, on the contrary , rejoice because joy will be major what it will come with.
